Swiss Medical Care introduces its new DiluJect™ contrast media dilution capability for its CT Expres 3D™

(September 4th, 2009)

Swiss Medical Care is proud to announce the introduction of its new DiluJect™ contrast media dilution feature for cardiac CT examination. After the injection of contrast media, DiluJect™ enables dilution of Contrast Media and saline in the patient’s vascular system in order to maintain a certain amount of contrast in the right ventricle during CT acquisition.

First cardiac CT examination with the new DiluJect™ contrast media dilution in Cécil Clinic (Lausanne, Switzerland).

"The septum measurement is more precise than without using this diluted phase and we can easily determine intracavitory lesions such as a myxoma. Furthermore, this allows us to better characterize the right ventricle function," says Dr Laurent Poncioni, radiologist in Cécil Clinic, Lausanne (part of Hirslanden Group representing 13 clinics in Switzerland).

"This new possibility to dilute contrast media with saline during a cardiac CT acquisition allows us to easily determine the right ventricle function," says Bruno Parreira, head of the technical team in Cécil Clinic.

"This new feature enlarges our injector’s programming capabilities to adapt contrast media injection protocols to the latest clinical needs. The programming flexibility we propose today with our CT Exprés 3D™ opens a new era in contrast injection," says Hervé Duffour, Marketing and Sales Director.

After the successful launch of the CT Exprés 3D™, the first syringe-less contrast media injector designed for multi-patient use with a new interactive multimedia audio/video interface concept, Swiss Medical Care continues to innovate with DiluJect™ as part of a platform offering new software and interactive program capabilities which will be made available over time to CT Exprés 3D™ customers.

"In our permanent effort to bring additional features and benefits to our customers, we are proud to offer today with our syringe-less contrast media injector CT Expres 3D™ this new DiluJect™ dilution programming capability which will help improve CT Angio diagnostics while reducing the amount of Contrast Media injected into the patient," says Frederic Neftel, MD, President & CEO of Swiss Medical Care SA.
